Theme

At first, I thought theme was the main idea of the selections, but I learned that this was wrong. Actually, theme is a central idea or insight about life and human nature.
Some themes are universal, which means that they are commonly found in the literature of all cultures and ages.
Themes can be found in all genres of literature; the five main genres of literature are non-fiction, fiction, poetry, drama, and myths.
Since I now understand theme, I can find the theme of my favorite movie. My favorite movie is The Lion King.
The theme of this movie is that power corrupts.
On my theme pretest, I was below grade-level. On my post test, I hope that I will be at grade-level.

Second Quarters Goals 2008

This quarter, I will try my best to earn a "B" or higher and an essay. In order to achieve this, I will go to class every day and make sure I have all of my proofreading done for the essay.

This quarter, I will pass with a "B+". In order to achieve this, I will turn in all of my homework, and study for all english tests.

This quarter, I will not be kicked out of class. In order to achieve this, I will be respectful to my peers and respectful to Ms. Priester.
